For example, you can create a new field that tracks where your users are coming from, and then provide them with an offer more exclusively tailored to their needs.
Here’s another example: Let’s say that you’re considering creating a mobile app. You can create a field designed to track what mobile platforms your users prefer, and then easily sort through your user list based on that field. This way you’ll know what mobile platform to develop for, and which users to ask for feedback.
The possibilities are endless and fully customizable, so go ahead, get creative with it! Ask your users for specific information when they sign up. Populate a new field automatically with an API Post. Run more effective split tests by collecting more detailed information about your users as they fill in text fields or select check boxes that correlate to your custom user fields.

Delavo Funnels Save You Time … And Make You Money.
Delavo Funnels Can Radically Improve Your Marketing … And Save You Hours of Time.
Time is money. You’re a business owner, so you know that. You also know that the longer you spend fussing with technical details, and working out kinks in software, the less time you have to improve your marketing.

Delavo Funnels are absolutely key to this. Since Delavo has so many features, we decided to dedicate today’s post to giving you a clear understanding of Funnels, and how to use it in ways you may have never considered.
In fact, I’m practically willing to guarantee that there is a usage scenario here that has never occurred to you.
So let’s begin!
“Wow, that headline really grabbed me. Let’s see what this product is about.”
And with that single thought, your customer begins to move through your ad. They eat up your story, comb through your bullets and ask questions in their mind that are quickly answered by your well-crafted copy.
As each moment passes, they become more and more excited by the prospect of owning what you’re selling. Finally they reach the bottom and their hand is itching to yank their wallet out. They click on a button. And one of two things happen:
- They are shown an upsell
- They’re taken to an order form that shows the price of the product and requests their credit card information.
When the first one happens before they’ve even entered their order information, the prospect becomes annoyed and sometimes gives up on the product. They think, “I don’t need to see an upsell. And who knows how many more of these pages will I have to deal with? I just want the product.”
When the second one happens, your customer hesitates. Now all they’re seeing is the price of your product, standing alone, naked. They see a bunch of blank boxes asking for their information. In that moment, they may forget what they’re going to receive. So they change their mind.
They “abandon” the page.
But some of them stick it through, and hit submit. And if you’ve done your homework, you’ve created an upsell. Maybe it’s a JV product. Maybe it’s the print version of your digital ebook. Maybe it’s a 30-day membership to a continuity product you sell. Whatever it is, they decide that they like what they see, and decide to buy it. Only to be faced with yet another order form.
“Ugh,” they think. “Another order form? Forget it, I don’t need it that badly.”
And so they abandon the order process.
The Last Thing You Want Is A Leaky Funnel
In our extensive testing, we found that the more steps that we pushed at our customer, the less likely they were to follow through on the sale. Each time you create a new step, it’s like punching a hole through your funnel. So when we created Delavo Funnels, we did our best to prevent leaks like that from ever happening.

Now your customer doesn’t need to be taken away from the page that sold them on your product in the first place. We found that this simple, significant change can result in a substantial increase to your conversion rate. - Create a One-Click Upsell process
Once your customer makes the first purchase, they’ll be able to buy any upsells you offer with just one click. They don’t have to type in any extra information. It’s as simple as a click of the mouse for them. And since Funnels integrate perfectly with Paypal, you can also have these single clicks send money to a different payment processor (more on this later). - Split-test at every step of your funnel
Often it’s hard to split test your salespage along side your upsells and find the optimal combination of sales elements. But thanks to Delavo’s built-in Split-testing capability, you can test and fine tune the perfect funnel for your product. - Get Statistically Significant Performance Numbers
With the click of just one button, you can get the statistics on the entire funnel. Also, Delavo will take the proactive step of letting you know when the split-test is over, and a winner has emerged. In fact, it ends the split test for you once it acquires enough data.
If this was all that Delavo Funnels did, it would be powerful enough. But Delavo keeps growing, and that’s because our experience reveals new lessons. And we take those lessons seriously.
For example, we discovered that if users were shown an upsell they’d already received from you in the past, they may think that the product itself is something they already own. You may miss an opportunity to show them something new.
That’s why we created Conditional Upsells.
With this powerful feature, you’ll prevent cart abandonment and increase the likelihood of your customer buying a new upsell. Also, it will prevent your customers from accidentally buying something they already own, and requesting a refund. A fantastic resource and time-saver for both you, and your customer.
We also found when working with JV partners, it was tedious to transfer money from our account to theirs. We wanted to be able to control where the money went instantly. So we incorporated a fantastic feature that allows you to have different payment processors for each step of the funnel. That means that we could collect 100% of the initial sale in one PayPal account, and have the profit from the upsell go to a joint PayPal account. Total transparency between you and your JV partner, and it’s automated so you don’t have to worry about it.
Lastly, you can also set up a Backup Payment Processor. We came up with this idea because sometimes your customer can enter erroneous information. A common issue we ran into was someone entering a phone number that didn’t correspond to the credit card they entered. When you have a merchant account with strict fraud prevention set up as your primary Payment Processor, this can be particularly problematic. But if you setup a Backup Payment Processor that is not as strict in their fraud prevention requirements, you can have Delavo try the backup processor without the customer ever knowing that anything has changed. To the customer, it’s business as usual, and they’re able to complete the sale. To you, it’s a rescued lead and avoiding a time-consuming Customer Service issue.
As you can see, Delavo Funnels is very powerful. It integrates with third party scripts, integrates with all the other Delavo features, and even allows you to notify a third party site of a purchase. Then you can integrate your current membership sites developed outside of Delavo.

Introducing The Master Campaigns Module!
We all opt for efficiency. Given the choice between two routes that lead to the same destination, we tend to lean toward the shortest and clearest path. After all, why create an unnecessary hassle for ourselves?
The Master Campaigns Module was created with this in mind. We’ve given Admins the power to pre-create Master Campaigns to go along with a new promotion. Before, the creation of such a Campaign was the responsibility of the Affiliate, and the learning curve inherent in that process, though not necessarily steep, could be enough to stop an affiliate from promoting your product.
After all, a good affiliate often has a massive list of prospects along with a nearly endless supply of potential products to sell to that list. Now that Delavo allows Affiliates to start a promotion with the instantly generated promo link … the path to profit for your product becomes “shorter”.
In other words, your product becomes more attractive to promote.
And that means more affiliates, more promotions, and ultimately … more profit.
But we didn’t stop there. We’ve also enhanced tracking capabilities within Campaigns so that it’s possible to generate consolidated numbers of clicks/sales through all affiliate links. Now, getting a birds-eye-view of the successes of their promotions is easier than ever for your Affiliates.
A happy affiliate sends more traffic to your product and that ultimately leads to – you got it – more profit!
We considered leaving this module as the only change in this update. But by now, Delavo Gold members are accustomed to more. And the truth is … so are we!
Three Powerful New Features.
#1: Campaign Statistics Customization – Smarter campaign statistics for smarter marketing decisions.
This new feature adds greater flexibility to your Campaigns’ statistical calculations.
Now, all types of campaigns can:
1. Measure your customers’ multiple clicks for different packages as a single click.
This is particularly useful when a customer going through more than one package or funnel during a single visit winds up clicking more than one package. Now, rather than viewing each click independently, you can measure it as a single click reflecting a single instance of customer interaction. This prevents your statistics from appearing to be inflated, and therefore gives you more precise data. Precision in data is the key to making well-informed marketing decisions.
2. Measure multiple sales within one order as a single sale.
An upsell shouldn’t be considered a separate sale. After all, it takes place at a completely different point in the funnel as your initial sale. By calculating all sales within one order as a single sale, you are better able to acquire an at-a-glance understanding of where your conversion rates stand.
Also, our new Master Campaigns Module is capable of:
3. Explicitly defining which Packages/Funnels a Campaign will count toward clicks and sales.
Not all packages and funnels are equal in value or purpose. The Master Campaigns Module takes this into account, and allows you to predetermine which Packages/Funnels a Campaign should include in its calculation of clicks and sales.
4. We’ve also made it possible to explicitly define which Products count as sales in the Campaign.
This is particularly useful in the event that your Affiliates are promoting a free product that does not contribute to their overall commission.
#2 FUNNELS – Short URL’s
No more long names in your Funnel URL! We’ve created a feature that automatically assigns a short URL to a funnel. You can find this alias on the Edit Funnel page, and also in the “Tools – Short URL’s” section.
#3 Select which Funnels/Packages Are Available For Promotion (via the New Master Campaign Module)
With Master Campaigns, Admins have the ability to determine which Funnels/Packages are available for promotion. That means that Delavo Gold members like you have the ability to not only create a Campaign that’s ready for promotion … but also provide the order link pre-associated with that campaign.
Additionally, if your promotion is being rolled out in stages, you can exercise better control over when your affiliates promote certain products. This means you can set up the product in Delavo in advance, and change the setting automatically, rolling it out uniformly to all your affiliates in one efficient act.
Delavo v2.18 also includes:
* CHANGE/FIX: Funnels are now forcing new sessions when a user with a new email signs up (Login / Options-Payment forms)
This fix helps to prevent situations where affiliates test a Funnel link given to them and then provide this link with a session code in it to their customers.

* FEATURE: Flexible And Easy Synchronicity Between Your Delavo User Database and an External User Database
Imagine your user changes their email or password. They also happen to use the same email and password to access another product they bought from you, but that information exists in a separate database outside of Delavo. Ideally, the change should be universal, and happen all at once. Well now, it does.
With this new feature, you’ll also be able to choose which events trigger a synchronization. For example, you might only want the password to be universally changed. Or you might want only the email address to be universally changed. Or perhaps there’s another piece of user data altogether that you want to trigger this event. This new features gives you the flexibility to make that decision yourself, and run it, giving you unprecedented control and automation over the way your Delavo User Database and external user database interact.
* FEATURE: Now, You Can Leave Only Information About Earnings In The Affiliate’s Commissions View.
Before, Delavo would show data about Opt-Ins as a “Zero Commission”. But now, you as a Gold Admin can choose to display only earnings — not Opt-In information — to your affiliates! Thanks to those who suggested this feature! We’re always paying attention to your ideas and desires… so please continue sharing them.
* FEATURE: Affiliate Campaigns- We’ve Added “Number of Opt-Ins” and “Opt-In Ratio”
Not every campaign is about sales. We recognize that Opt-In metrics are very important, and entirely different from sales metrics. So we have added a feature that allows Campaigns to calculate zero sales and other sales separately. That means that All the previously “0 sales” are displayed under “Opt-Ins” and the number of other sales are put under the “Sales” category. Also, there are two corresponding “Ratio” columns now, giving your affiliates the ability to tell, at-a-glance, how their campaign is proceeding.
* FEATURE: “Auto-add membership(s) to users”
A user just signed up for a free product, and created an account. They’re now a member of your site. Before, because they didn’t pay for anything, this would count as a zero-sale and would create a bit of confusion in the process of opening up your membership to this user. This sometimes made planning your funnel a bit challenging.
Well now, you can have Delavo Auto-Add members to users. This is especially great when you want your users to receive additional memberships during special promotions.
You can find this new setting on the global level (Profile / Merchant Settings) and on the Funnels level. The memberships listed in these settings will be auto-added in the event one of these two things occur:
-A New User Registers
-An existing user who doesn’t have the membership logs in.
Delavo Gold Members Also Get These Great Changes in 2.17:
* CHANGE: Autoassigned Privilege Packages and Affiliate Programs are now configured in Profile / Merchant settings
This change refers to the “Autoassigned” Privilege Packages and Affiliate Programs. The “Auto-assignment” is now configured not in the Privilege Packages and Affiliate Programs record, but in Profile / Merchant Settings, under “Auto-add to users” section. Also, auto-adding now works not only when a new user registers, but also when an existing user logs in.
* CHANGE: License Server optimization: auto-upgrade speed increased 3x times
* CHANGE: Affiliate Campaigns now count clicks and orders from Funnels
* CHANGE: API documentation is now included in each Delavo installation

A partial list of new features and improvements is included below, but allow me to draw your attention to two of the most important:
Automatic Re-Try of Credit Cards
Millions of dollars are lost each year by “re-billing failures.” If you have customers on recurring payments, sometimes the attempt to re-bill their card fails – even when they eagerly want to give you their money to continue your service. Many merchants simply write these off. It’s a huge mistake. We’ve found that automatically re-billing failed subscription payments can recoup thousands (or even millions depending on the size of your business) in potentially lost profit each and every month.
In Delavo Gold 2.14, automatic re-try is totally automation-ready, and customizable to your specifications with a few mouse clicks.

Built-In Confidence Interval Calculation

Online marketers have much better visibility on the effectiveness of their marketing and advertising efforts, but most are actually basing their decisions on poor statistical data.
Translation: sometimes when you think you’re picking the winning campaign, you’re picking the loser.
Measuring the Confidence Interval of your marketing funnels will give help you make much better decisions much faster. Delavo is now the only ecommerce platform in the world that has Confidence Interval calculation built-in to it’s reporting!
These features alone should be reason enough to upgrade to Gold if you haven’t already. But here is a small taste of some of the other new features and improvements in 2.14:
FUNNELS: Sales report is now available within a funnel. There’s no need to pull the sales stats for the results of a recently launched funnel elsewhere in your Delavo installation.
FUNNELS: Encrypted Credit Card data storage makes shopping for your customers that much more secure.
MODULE: Internal Subscriptions: For Gold level members selling continuity programs such as memberships, or monthly subscriptions to a product – we now have improved descriptions of reports that show the name of the report and where to find it.
FEATURE: With internal Subscriptions Summary reports you now get added Totals, you can search by Products, you can customize the reports by restricting search results, and export the results in CSV and XLS.
CHANGE: Invoice numbers are made unique across all Delavo systems so that for example two Delavo installations can link to one PayPal account.
FEATURE: Backup payments means “Auto-retry” on failed payments is available for Paypal WPP DP / Payflow payment options and is configurable on the Funnel / Package, Funnel Step, Product and Global levels.
MODULE: Tracking links are now available from the Silver level of membership and up. This means that you no longer need to go to an external source like Google to create accurate, usable tracking links.
FEATURE: Funnels now support discount codes.
FEATURE: The Funnels Sales Report now offer Confidence Interval calculations!
